Do you want every single smart card to feature the same design and information? Then selecting a generic smart card is the correct route for you! Choose between either a Mifare 1K or Mifare 4K chip, a matt or gloss finish, and additional options to add magnetic stripes (not encoded) and signature panels.

If you want the same overall card design but with unique information on each smart card such as names, numbers and barcodes, or even a magnetic stripe (which you can have encoded or not) and of course the ability to choose your finish and add signature panels, then this is the option for you! Please note the chips will not be encoded.

Do I need Generic or Variable Data versions of my Smart Cards?

If you want each individual smart card to be identical, then simply select the ‘Generic’ option and create your design. However, if you require each card to have individual details such as names, numbers and even additional functionality of barcodes and magnetic stripes then choose the ‘Variable Data’ option and add them to your design. The only difference is that you will need to upload your associated data as a CSV file.
Cards purchased through the Hub website are digitally printed on a HP Indigo 5900 press in our own purpose built manufacturing facility, and are made using standard PVC with a 760 micron thickness.
